Flexkeeping alternatives for hotels not on Mews

In September 2025 Mews announced that it had acquired Flexkeeping, the hotel operations platform. If your hotel runs Mews, that may be good news. If it runs another PMS, it is a reasonable moment to look at your options. Facts about Flexkeeping here come from its own website and the Mews announcement.

What changed

On September 30, 2025, Mews announced that it had acquired Flexkeeping, in a deal managed by Mews Ventures. The announcement says that "Mews' customers will have a truly best-in-class housekeeping platform natively connected to their PMS." Flexkeeping's own legal pages now describe it as a Mews company. Source: Mews press release.

The announcement does not say what happens to hotels that use Flexkeeping with another PMS. As of November 3, 2026, Flexkeeping's FAQ still lists integrations with Mews, Cloudbeds, RMS Cloud, Apaleo, Shiji and Oracle OPERA. So nothing here suggests you need to move. It does mean that a hotel on another PMS should ask Flexkeeping about its plans for that connection, and it is a natural point to compare.

Who is likely to compare

  • Hotels on another PMSA hotel on Cloudbeds, Apaleo, RMS Cloud or OPERA that relies on Flexkeeping's connection may want a second option ready, even if nothing changes.
  • Hotels that mostly need maintenanceFlexkeeping describes itself as an automation platform for complex properties, and housekeeping is the first of its suites. A hotel whose real problem is repairs, preventive maintenance and a growing backlog may be better served by maintenance-first software.
  • Hotels that want a published priceSome owners prefer to see the monthly price and the setup cost before a demo, or to avoid a setup fee altogether.
  • Hotels evaluating for the first timeIf you were about to choose Flexkeeping, the acquisition is simply one more fact to weigh, alongside your PMS and what your team will use.

On Cloudbeds, Turndown reads rooms and reservations and sends clean and dirty status back, with inspected sent as clean. On Apaleo it reads units and reservations and sends the room condition back; out of order is not pushed back to Apaleo. On Mews it reads rooms and reservations and can send room state back, using API access from your Mews account. The integrations page has the detail for each.

When Flexkeeping is the better choice

  • Your hotel runs Mews and you want housekeeping natively connected to it, from the same company.
  • Housekeeping is the bigger job: complex cleaning patterns, many attendants and automation of who cleans what.
  • Your team speaks many languages beyond the four Turndown's staff screens offer.
  • You want quality assurance with digital SOPs as part of the same platform.
  • You run a group and want onboarding and support in one of the languages Flexkeeping lists.

Questions to ask before you renew or switch

Whatever you decide, put these to Flexkeeping and to any alternative, and ask for the answers in writing.

  1. What is the plan for my PMS connection? Ask whether it is maintained, what moves each way, and how quickly a sync problem shows up on screen.
  2. What will I pay this year and next? Monthly fee for your room count, any setup or onboarding fee, and how a price change would be notified.
  3. What is the minimum term? Month to month, a year, or longer, and how notice works.
  4. Who needs a login? Attendants, supervisors, engineers, the front desk and managers. Check whether every role is included.
  5. How do I get all my data out? Ask for the format and whether photos, service history and closed jobs are included.
  6. What happens to my open work during a switch? Open jobs, room holds and preventive plans need a clean handover, or they get lost in the gap.

Turndown's answers are on the pricing section: one published price per property, every user included, no setup fee, month to month, and a full export of CSV files plus photos in one ZIP at any time.

If you are moving, move the data first

  1. Export what you have. Rooms, equipment, open jobs and preventive plans. A spreadsheet is enough.
  2. Load rooms and equipment. In Turndown, rooms come from your PMS, a pasted list or ranges like 101-120, and an existing equipment list can be imported from CSV or Excel with a preview before saving.
  3. Recreate the preventive plans. The guided setup suggests plans for the equipment you pick. Compare them with your current list and keep what you actually do.
  4. Run both for a week. Close open jobs in the old system and log new ones only in the new one. At the end of the week, nothing should be left behind.

The preventive maintenance schedule builder is a quick way to see what your plans add up to over a year before you load them anywhere.

Questions

Did Mews buy Flexkeeping?

Yes. Mews announced the acquisition of Flexkeeping on September 30, 2025, in a press release on its own website. The release says Mews customers will have a housekeeping platform natively connected to their PMS.

Does Flexkeeping still work with PMSs other than Mews?

Flexkeeping's FAQ, checked on November 3, 2026, lists integrations with Mews, Cloudbeds, RMS Cloud, Apaleo, Shiji and Oracle OPERA. The Mews announcement does not say what will happen to other PMS connections, so ask Flexkeeping about your PMS and its plans for it.

How much does Flexkeeping cost?

Flexkeeping does not publish prices. Its FAQ says pricing is a monthly subscription based on the number of rooms using it, plus a one-time setup and onboarding fee. A demo is the way to get a quote.

What is a good Flexkeeping alternative for a hotel on Cloudbeds or Apaleo?

Look for a product that names your PMS and covers the departments you actually use. Turndown connects to Cloudbeds and Apaleo and is maintenance first. hotelkit names Apaleo, and HelloShift lists Cloudbeds among its PMS connections. Try two of them with your own rooms.
